Contemporary Art Contemporary Education
Students of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow visited MOCAK on 9 November 2011. The purpose of the visit was to familiarise the participants with the Museum’s educational activities. The activities were in three parts: presentation and discussion of relevant issues, a short artistic workshop session and a tour of the Collection and temporary exhibitions.

On 29 October 2011, a mystery Zebra visited MOCAK and left the following letter addressed to the youngest visitors:
‘You are in the Museum of Contemporary art. I have hidden your work accessories in the Gallery. To get them back, you have to find me and to perform a number of tasks. It won’t be too easy... Good luck!’
An Adventure with Watercolour
On 22 October 2011, An Adventure with Watercolour, a workshop for children took place, part of the series Autumn Workshops at MOCAK. First, the children discussed the painting techniques which they already knew, including watercolour. Next, following the trails of installations and paintings in the MOCAK Collection, they looked for a new adventure in the Museum.

Can history be a picture? How can you tell your story without words? These – and many others – were the questions that the participants of the workshop History can be broken down into images rather than stories, run at MOCAK on 2 October 2011, set out to find answers for.
moreEmbroider yourself!
On 1st October 2011, MOCAK hosted Monika Drożyńska's project Embroider yourself! The participants had an opportunity to embroider words expressing difficult emotions on textile and felt, prepared by the artist especially. In this way, they all became collaborators on the artist's project. Its crowning glory will be a huge tapestry entirely covered in embroidery so as to render the aggressive or hurtful words embroidered on it almost illegible.

On 25 September 2011 at MOCAK the workshop The Constitution of My Life for senior citizens took place with the participation of the artist Marek Chlanda. Those in attendance were the seniors from the Municipal Cultural Centre in Bukowina, carrying out an Open University project.
moreWhat Does a Conservator Do?
On 24 September 2011, at 2 pm, as part of the 10th Podgórze Open Days, the doors of the MOCAK conservator also opened. Those who came had the opportunity to see places normally out of bounds for visitors, as well as to learn the professional secrets of Zofia Kerneder – a conservator of contemporary art. Occasionally, the conservator takes place in the creative process of the making of a work of art, especially in the case of contemorary work.

The Podgórze autumn has come to MOCAK! On 24th September 2011, the Museum opened its door to the youngest inhabitants of Podgórze – during the workshop, they produced original postcards and cards which encouraged Cracovians to visit and get to know their district. The workshop was part of the 10th Podgórze Open Days.
