reCYCLING, or lets together paint our bicycles in time for the start of the holidays!
The summer kicked off at MOCAK with reCYCLING, a large-scale social and artistic action, during which a few hundred of Cracovians engaged in creative repainting of their bikes. In holiday atmosphere, with background music, the participants occupied the Museum’s courtyard to design their own stencils, create original ornaments and spray their bikes, customising them in a personal and unique way.

On Wednesday 20 June 2012 as part of the cultural education get-together of the Citizens of Krakow Culture there took place a panel discussion entitled Cultural Education Lab.
moreFlying Childrens Day!
From 1 – 3 June 2012 a special Children’s Book Workshop took place, which gave children the opportunity to produce artistic books, using various materials, as well as to perform a variety of tasks linked to contemporary art and the MOCAK Collection.
moreAn Unprinted Story
On 18 May, during the opening of the new exhibitions and the Night at the Museums, visitors made a mural – together with the artist Artur Wabik – which showed a diagram of an imaginary printing press. The artist’s design was inspired by the printing process. The white line running across the wall represents a sheet of paper in the printing press. The painters filled the diagram with their own ideas. The result was CMYK at MOCAK – a work created in the basic colours used in the printing process: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black.

On 30 April 2012 a workshop for secondary school pupils and students took place in the Museum with the participation of Mariusz Tarkawian, an artist whose works were on show as part of the exhibition Comics. Urban Legends at MOCAK.
moreTalking to Ghosts
On 29 April 2012 MOCAK welcomed the senior citizens from the Cultural Centre in Bukowno. Together, we viewed the MOCAK Collection and temporary exhibitions. The session was a continuation of the project The Constitution of My Life, during which the seniors had an opportunity to find out about contemporary art and to meet the artist Marek Chlanda.
moreSlow Art Day at MOCAK!
Slow Art Day is the Polish edition of the international museum action of the same name. This year, it fell on 28 April. The action aims to encourage visitors to develop their own individual method of visiting the museum as well as to pay attention to the fact that each work has its history and significance, which can be discovered only, if one stops in front of it for longer that the eight-seconds average.
moreThe Earth Day at MOCAK
On 22 April 2012, on the occasion of The Earth Day, MOCAK invited whole families to open workshops, during which we all made works using recycled materials. Plastic bottles, wrapping, cardboard and plastic foil were transformed into attractive new objects.
moreInter-nationally!
On the 1 April 2012, the workshop Inter-nationally! took place for students from abroad, who are attending Krakow’s higher education as part of the Erasmus programme.
moreReturn of the Book!
On 31 March 2012 as part of the opening of the MOCAK Library, we prepared the artistic and educational project entitled Return of the Book! – as result of the cooperation between MOCAK and the Krakow project Sól.
