On 31 March 2012 as part of the opening of the MOCAK Library, we prepared the artistic and educational project entitled Return of the Book! – as result of the  cooperation between MOCAK and the Krakow project Sól.

We also invited the antique bookshop Skrypt to take part in the venture. They lent to us a few dozen books, which – for some reason – had remained in the shop, unloved and unwanted by buyers. Some of the books to be transformed during the workshop had also come from MOCAK’s own book collection. Both artists and those who attended the workshop turned their attention to those unwanted books and, through artistic intervention, established their own creative relationship with each object, supplying each book with a new narrative.

The books are exhibited in the Library; some are on display in a box reminiscent the box from the antique bookshop, made by Mateusz Okoński. They will be subsequently handed over, in batches, to Skrypt antique bookshop, where it will be possible to buy them at their pre-makeover price.
