Laura Pawela
Painting, video. Her work focuses on the place of the individual in the virtual world, feminism, the artist’s embroilment in the institutional system. Her works employ the style of computer message screens. The artist alters their commands so as to comment on the existential conditioning of the human being. She transposes the language of communication with the machine to the language of the interpretation of the world and oneself. The form of her work results in an effect of pastiche and critique of reality.
