On Thursday 4 March at 6 pm we invite you to the event that accompanies the exhibition The Ultimate Song and the publication of the same title. With the participation of: Paweł Althamer, Artur Żmijewski, Adam Mazur and Maria Anna Potocka. During the session, the artists, curator and director of the Museum will discuss art, poetry, inspirations and creative methods. The event will be held in Polish.

The collages are made of excerpts cut out from books – starting with Taschen’s erotic and pornographic publications, through nature and anatomical albums, to historical and scientific atlases. The multi-layered, painterly works have a clear texture, colour and dense composition. War, the Shoah, suffering and erotica are some of the themes that appear in the exhibition, with no particular emphasis on any single one. Politics is conspicuously absent – the topic that the audiences have grown accustomed to while following the artists in their years of strife in the field of criticism.  Nor are there exhortations to rise up or eulogies of the revolution. Instead, there is a reflection on poetry and art.

The session will be simultaneously translated into Polish Sign Language (PJM). The event will take place online on PLAY KRAKOW. The number of seats available will be dictated by the Health and Safety recommendations.
