Wladysław Hasior

(1928-1999)

Sculpture, objects, assemblage. An artist who was active at the interstices of numerous genres of art: painting, architecture,  sculpture, artistic handicrafts, and folk art. A precursor of assemblage and pop art. In his work he also made reference to such artistic currents as surrealism and the new realism. He made use of ready and found objects, endowing them with new
functions and symbolic significances. In the shaping of his artistic vision he made use, additionally, of water, air, and fire.
