Tomasz Tatarczyk

(1947-2010)

Painting at the juncture of realism and abstraction. The works show fragments of landscape affected by an event in the past, which emanate the sensation of emptiness marked by traces of someone’s presence. The focus is entirely on these relics – this enhances tension but also the aura of implicity. The artist lived and worked in Mięćmierz, a village close to Kazimierz Dolny, and he drew his artistic inspiration from his surroundings.
