New bookshop: MOCAK-bookstore-BUNKIER

New bookshop: MOCAK-bookstore-BUNKIER

Published at:19.02.2021

A new venue has arrived on the literary map of Krakow for the lovers of art and literature to enjoy. The bookshop MOCAK-bookstore-BUNKIER was opened at 20 Rynek as a result of the collaboration between Bunkier the Contemporary Art Gallery and MOCAK the Museum of Contemporary Art in Krakow.

Mindful of the position of the bookshop in the very heart of Krakow, UNESCO City of Literature, the classics of Polish and world literature will feature prominently in the range on offer, including the most important works of contemporary writers and poets.

As well as books on art criticism, philosophy and aesthetics, you will find there publications about photography, design, fashion, film, music and architecture. In MOCAK Bookstore BUNKIER young people and children will find plenty of books to catch their attention. Comic lover can look forward to shelves of graphic stories in Polish and English. There is also an ample offering of literature that provides additional insight into the themes covered by the current exhibitions at any given time. And there is a special section for books published under the auspices of Krakow UNESCO City of Literature.

MOCAK-bookstore-BUNKIER also brings you unique objects produced especially by artists in collaboration with the Gallery and the Museum.

The bookshop also has an area to relax, where visitors will enjoy browsing through publications of their choice on the spot. In the pipeline there are workshops, ‘meet the author’ and other events focused on literature and art.

MOCAK-bookstore-BUNKIER will be working closely with the cultural centre on the first floor of the building, run by the Krakow Festival Office and its numerous partners. Literature will play a leading role in its programme. Literature will have a prominent role in the programme.
