International Academic Conference Apollinaire – « l’esprit nouveau » – les avant-gardes
On Friday and Saturday 30 November – 1 December 2018, the MOCAK audiovisual hall will host an academic conference on Guillaume Apollinaire, organised by the Institute of Roman Philology of the Jagiellonian University, the French Institute in Krakow, the Consulate General of France in Krakow and MOCAK. The lectures will be delivered in French (with the exception of the lecture by Jan Gondowicz: Reading Que vlo-ve by Guillaume Apollinaire in Polish translation). Admission is free.
During the conference, there will be an opportunity to purchase the first volume of Guillaume Apollinaire’s Artistic Chronicles published by MOCAK, covering the years 1902 –1911. The Chronicles is a collection of Apollinaire’s critical articles which appeared in the press and exhibition catalogues and texts on contemporary art throughout his life, published from 1902 until his death in 1918. The compilation was first published in 1960 by Gallimard publishing house, thanks to the work of the French editor L-C. Breuniga, who had collected the texts in this volume from dispersed sources and arranged them in chronological order, providing a foreword and footnotes. The collection was translated into Polish by Jan Gondowicz, a renowned translator from French and Russian.
The volume has been published thanks to part-funding from the French Institute in Poland under the Publishing Support Programme.
The volume was published thanks to a grant from the French Institute in Poland under the BOY-ŻELEŃSKI Publishing Support Programme.
