On Saturday 13 December, at 12 noon, you are welcome to visit the English-language guided tour of the exhibition: Sana Shahmuradova Tanska The Rapture. Your guide will be the artist and educator Daria Rzepiela.

The Rapture is the first solo exhibition of one of the most distinctive artists of the youngest generation of Ukrainian art, Sana Shahmuradova Tanska (born 1996, Odesa).

In her paintings, Shahmuradova Tanska employs the theme of intergenerational trauma and motifs from dreams as tools for establishing contact and communication with her ancestors. The painter uses materials such as wood, jute, canvas and oil paints. The artist’s distinctive visual language, based on fluid, organic lines and luminous colour, evokes dreamlike, mythical landscapes in which figures fuse with their surroundings. Drawing on her personal history and responding to the current situation in Ukraine, her works become vehicles for both individual and collective experience, highlighting the violence and atrocities committed against Ukraine’s civilian population and nature by the aggressor state, Russia.

Admission is included in the exhibition ticket price. The meeting point: the MOCAK reception desk.
