Piotr Blamowski

Utopian design, video. The artist designs furniture and interiors which hark back to various epochs. His trademark is a ‘pathological’ breach of historic styles, with a simultaneous perfectionism in the execution and use of top quality materials. Since 2010, Blamowski, together with the camera operator Michał Sterzyński, has been working on a series of short films, collectively known as designgeneration. They have made more than forty film études, which present grey Polish mundanity in a mode of hyperbolised absurdity.
