Is it possible to change the world so that there will be no more war?
The Polish edition of Krzysztof Wodiczko’s The Abolition of War brings to us his project, in which he proposes to transform The Arc de Triomphe in Paris into a World Institute for the Abolition of War.
Can art expand the feeling of freedom?
The 30th exhibition of the Council of Europe The Desire for Freedom: Art in Europe Since 1945 presents works of 47 artists from 17 European countries. The exhibition is divided into 12 chapters, each devoted to a particular form of freedom – from its revolutionary form, experienced by entire societies, to the private freedom of the individual. The viewer is brought face to face with the concept of freedom; the exhibition also provides a compendium of knowledge about video art.
The principal curator of the WRO Art Center, Piotr Krajewski, and the director of MOCAK, Maria Anna Potocka, will take part in a discussion about the book and the works presented at the exhibition The Desire for Freedom.
During the event Krzysztof Wodiczko’s The Abolition of Wars and the catalogue of the exhibition The Desire for Freedom will be on sale at discounted prices.
Venue: Centrum Sztuki WRO / WRO Art Center, ul. Widok 7, 50-052 Wrocław
