30th exhibition of the European Council The Need for Freedom. European Art in Europe Since 1945
is part of a project whose previous editions have been presented in Berlin, Milan
and Tallinn. At MOCAK, we are mainly presenting video works, produced by 47 artists from 17 countries. The first part of the catalogue, with the introduction by Thorbjørn Jagland, contains texts by Maria Anna Potocka, Monika Flacke and Zygmunt Bauman. The second part, mirroring the exhibition itself, is divided into 12 thematic sections, presenting works of individual artists, with illustrations and a brief commentary.
