XI Podgórze Open Door Days

Tours of the Mieczysław Porębski Library

You are welcome to join in the exploration of the secrets of the Library of the late Professor Mieczysław Porębski, a prominent art historian and theoretician. This is a unique space, with a dual character: this private library of an academician also functions as an image library of works of artist friends of the Professor. You will find here works of such artists as Tadeusz Kantor, Jerzy Nowosielski, Tadeusz Brzozowski, Maria Jarema, Zbigniew Makowski and Ryszard Winiarski.

Open door – the Conservator’s Workshop

The Conservator’s workshop will open its door to visitors. You will be able to find out how to mend a work of art that you have in your possession. Bring along your favourite painting, photograph, frame, sculpture or any other item that you hold dear and with professional guidance mend or restore it yourself,.

The conservator will reveal the professional tricks of the trade; she will offer advice on how to clean, glue, reinforce, freshen up, renew or secure an object and, as far as possible, will help to carry out on the spot the necessary remedial work.

3 – 4 pm
Walking in Lipowa Street

This family workshop for children and parents aims to familiarise the public with the art attractions of Lipowa Street. We promise that the recreational walk will be an art experience in its own right.

4 – 5 pm
The Museum Full of Secrets – an active tour for children aged 5 to 12.

The session will kick off with the participants making their own ‘windows on the world’. A tour round the MOCAK building and outdoor space will follow. The children will discover the secrets of the selected works presented at MOCAK.
