Wiesław Dymny: I Am a Wounded Man: Writer, Actor, Painter

Wiesław Dymny was a versatile man. For his volume of short stories Opowiadania zwykłe (Ordinary stories, 1963) he received the Kościelskis Award. Besides prose, Dymny wrote poems, songs and film scripts. He created paintings, drawings, collages, book cover designs, stage set designs and photographs. He also acted in many films. In 1964–1969 he was the manager of the rock group Szwagry, for whom he wrote over 300 songs. The publication includes reminiscences about Dymny by people associated with the cabaret Piwnica pod Baranami (Cellar under the Rams), an interview with Anna Dymna, and a comprehensive timeline by Monika Wąs – the biographer of Wiesław Dymny and Piotr Skrzynecki. The illustrated section of the book is the first-ever album presentation of the visual art of Wiesław Dymny.
