On Sunday 27 July at 1 pm you are invited to a special edition of The Second Life of a Book, organised jointly by the Krakow Festival Office and the bookeriada.pl web portal.
Free book-swapping brings new life to home libraries, facilitates encounters with and enhances our access to literature. You get a chance to swap books that you have read, don’t find very useful or interesting, for ones that you have been searching for high and low or for something quite unexpected. It’s so easy to give a book a new lease of life!
Anyone can take part in the free book swap! All you need to do is bring up to ten books, as long as they are in good condition. Books published pre-1995 may only be swapped for books also published before that date. Books that came out later than 1995 can be swapped for any book.
Publications on art are particularly welcome! All those taking part in the MOCAK book swap will have a chance to have the book that they have acquired bound and will also be able to avail themselves of the discounts offered at the MOCAK Bookstore (25 per cent discount for any MOCAK publication and a 10 per cent discount for any other book of your choice, available if you show the stamp received at the swap).
The swap will be accompanied by a workshop for children and adults inspired by Leszek Zając’s work World Speedway Champion presented at the exhibition Inner Space.
We all try to be champions in various areas of activity – let us pause to think whether we really do have to be the best. The session will result in the book Champions, a compilation of the small and large private victories of the participants.
At 3 pm, there will be a guided tour of the Mieczysław Porębski Library.
