On Sunday 16 March at 12 noon you have the final opportunity to take part in a guided tour in English of the exhibition Food in Art. The artist Itamar Gilboa will talk about his works in the series Food Chain Project.

Admission included in the ticket price. No advance booking is required. Participants are requested to turn up at the MOCAK Reception five minutes before the guided tour begins. Estimated duration of the tour: 90 minutes.

The artist: Itamar Gilboa – a multidisciplinary artist. His works explore the connections between art, technology, science and the environment, and encompass a range of media including sculpture, video, drawing and painting. As part of his artistic practice, he analyses the elements that make up his cultural heritage and national identity, as well as the transformations he experienced when migrating from Israel to the Netherlands. Gilboa creates thought-provoking sculptural installations with the help of various data collected through his own research. In 2008, he began a 365-day project in which he recorded what he ate and drank on a daily basis. Five years later, according to the list he created, he began to create objects representing the products he consumed. This resulted in thousands of plaster casts, made using moulds made from actual foodstuffs. The artist lives and works in Amsterdam.

Your guide: Katarzyna Grudniewska, PhD in Fine Arts – Visual Arts educator and artist. She works with Kraków’s cultural institutions, children’s universities and schools in the field of art education. She teaches a Visual Arts course at a high school with the International Baccalaureate. She organises exhibitions and writes texts on culture.
