The hugely successful reCYCLING event is coming back in a new form. We would like to invite all bicycle fans to join us at MOCAK on 1 September at 12 o’clock. The participants will not only get a chance to revamp their vehicles, but will also have an opportunity to broaden their knowledge of bicycles, visit the Sport in Art exhibition and test their stamina in the Schwinn Cycling marathon. Massmix, a street-art collective, will attend the event as special guests.
ENERGYM Fitness Club is the strategic partner of the action.
PROGRAMME:
BICYCLE PAINTING
Change your bikes beyond recognition! Use paints, stencils, stickers; whatever you like! Express your creativity and improve the condition of your bike. Aerosol paints will be provided courtesy of the Chemmot company. All other materials provided by the organizers.
LOOK AT PICTURES OF EXTRAORDINARY BICYCLES
We are organizing a competition for the most unforgettable bicycle metamorphosis. Show off your bike – your unique, personal vehicle, revamped "do it yourself" style, or in other words, painted just by you, according to your imagination!
We would like to invite you to participate in our best-pimped bike photographic competition. Send us a picture of your vehicle by 28 August at: wojnarowicz@mocak.pl, and we will present it during the second edition of reCYCLING*.
SCHWINN CYCLING MARATHON
During the Schwinn Cycling marathon, participants form groups in which they cycle on stationary bikes to the rhythm of lively, energetic music, overseen by professional instructors from ENERGYM Fitness Club. Piotr Szmyt, Artur Podwysocki and Paweł Janas will run a three-hour training session which will allow you to compete with others and check your own stamina and capabilities. You can sign up for the marathon at ENERGYM Fitness Club’s reception desk (phone no. 12 446 66 62).
VISITING EXHIBITIONS
The participants will have free entry to the Sport in Art exhibition and other exhibitions that are currently on display in MOCAK.
CHILDREN’S WORKSHOPS
The Spinning Wheel of the Museum, 12:30 – 1.30 (age 4-8)
We would like to invite children to actively visit the Sport in Art exhibition. The participants will be invited on a journey to track down all wheels concealed in the works of contemporary artists. The material collected in the course of the play will be used to create deeply moving works of art. No registration necessary. The number of places is limited.
Around Sport in Art, 2:30 - 3:30 (age 8-14)
While the adults will be busy applying more and more layers of paint to their bicycles, the children will search for inspiration in the Gallery. Through their work, the artists will inspire the participants to design their own, original patterns, which they will then use to decorate their crossbars. No registration necessary. The number of places is limited.
Instructor: Maria Wegenke
The participants will also get special discounts at the Papuamu eco-bistro.
The aim of the project is to make people in Krakow become more aware of the relationship between visual art and city esthetics. The event will animate Zablocie and promote an active and creative way of life. The campaign accompanies the Sport in Art exhibition, on display in the Museum only until the end of September.
