On Thursday, 1 December 2022, at 6 pm, we invite you to MOCAK for a panel discussion on the most important contemporary art event in the world – the documenta. Since 1955, it has been held every five years in the German city of Kassel, lasting 100 days. The discussion, featuring Birgitta Coers, Jürgen Kaumkötter and Maria Anna Potocka, will focus on the origins of the event, its creators and its role in the visual arts of the post-war period. Another topic under discussion will be the 15th edition of the event, which is taking place this year, and the controversies surrounding it.
The panel is part of the research and exhibition project 1929/1955 >>, carried out by the Center for Persecuted Arts in Solingen in conjunction with the documenta archive.
Venue: MOCAK, audiovisual hall
