Mikołaj Smoczyński

(1955–2009)                                                                                                                                             Photograph, installation. Lived in Lublin and from his graduation onwards held a post at UMCS, the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. He made site-specific installations and took black-and-white photographs, which usually related to his interventions in gallery and museum spaces. In his work, installation and photography had equal status. The one medium influenced the other, whether as a point of reference or source of inspiration.
