On Saturday, 26 April at 12 noon, we would like to invite you to a guided tour of Fabian Knecht’s new solo exhibition Path of Most Resistance. The artist himself will talk about his work, in the context of the works on display. The guided tour will be conducted in English.
The exhibition is the first solo presentation in Poland of works by the German artist Fabian Knecht (b. 1980). In his artistic practice he employs artistic media including performance, installation and photography. His hallmarks are anti-authoritarianism and recognition of the leading role that art has in society. By creating situations and images that question existing social norms and relations, as well as patterns of behaviour and perception, he forces us to experience art directly. In keeping with the nature of his art, the exhibition of Knecht’s latest works ventures beyond the gallery space. The works on display are the result of the artist’s repeated travels through Ukraine, since 2005. Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale military onslaught, the artist has been actively supporting the Ukrainian resistance and volunteering. Knecht’s wartime experience of humanitarian work has found reflection in his artistic activity.
Admission included in the ticket price. No advance booking is required. Participants are requested to turn up at the MOCAK Reception five minutes before the start of the guided tour. The estimated tour duration is 90 minutes.
