Graboszyce. The Everyday Reality in Art

Can our ordinary, familiar surroundings inspire an artist? Can a work of art remind us of DVDs, bricks, planks of wood or the school whiteboard in the scale 1:1? How and when can art merge with the everyday reality?

The Foundation Culture without Barriers (Fundacja Kultury bez Barier) and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Krakow invite you to workshops designed especially to accommodate the needs of those visually and aurally impaired. With our special guest Rafał Bujnowski.

During the workshops, the participants will become acquainted with the work Graboszyce 23, from the series Polish Houses. The work – a house – has been ‘built’ using geometric shapes, straight lines and areas of homogenous colour. What associations does such a house bring to mind? Who could live in a house like that? And who would like to?

The workshop participants will also answer these questions themselves, during their own creative work.

The session, with auto-description and sign language back-up provided, will take place on 14 May 2014 at 3 pm.

Entry free. However, the number of places is limited so please prebook. Register with przyjmuje Ania Żórawska at: ania@kulturabezbarier.org

The session will take place as part of the project Workshop for Zachęta II co-financed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.
