On Thursday 29 November at 7 pm, come to the concert by the Silesian String Quartet at MOCAK – building A, exhibition space.

The Silesian String Quartet, one of the most acclaimed in Polish chamber music, is celebrating its 40th anniversary. In their jubilee concert, part of the celebrations of the centenary of Poland regaining national independence, the ensemble has prepared a programme of 10 performances in as many Polish museums. It comprises the most significant pieces of chamber music by Polish composers of the 20th century – repertory that Silesian String Quartet is famed for and which has frequently received prestigious awards. The Silesian chamber music ensemble venture outside conventional concert halls and play in renowned museums, where the idiosyncratic architecture and the timeless setting add emphasise the status of the music and enhance exceptional ambience.

During the concert in MOCAK, the audience will have an opportunity to listen to compositions by Krzysztof Penderecki.
