A session dedicated to the book Bialy mazur. Kino kobiet w polskiej kinematografii
by Monika Talarczyk-Gubala.
An encounter with a prominent researcher of contemporary film and culture. The author perceptively examines and describes the work of female film directors and women who combine script-writing with direction. Talarczyk-Gubala’s approach is a socially engaged, critical perspective of cultural studies. The protagonists of the Bialy mazur include Wanda Jakubowska, Ewa Petelska, Agnieszka Osiecka, Barbara Sass, Agnieszka Holland, Ewa Kruk, Maria Kaniewska, Anna Sokolowska, Jadwiga Kedzierzawska, Maria Nurowska, Krystyna Kofta and Manuela Gretkowska. The book provides a guide to the so far unchartered areas of the Polish cinema created by women.
The session is organised by MOCAK and Arsenal the Municipal Art Gallery in Poznań.
