Artur Żmijewski

Photography, film, video. He postulates the deliberate participation of art in public life. In his work he accentuates the world of 'The Other' – people who are physically and mentally deformed. He records their everyday lives, showing how physical and intellectual limitations sentence them to even more severe social exclusion. He shows how not fitting into the world of the able can provide a boost to the dignity of the disabled.
