The protagonist is Józef Tarnawa, a former prisoner of Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp, persuaded by the artist to have his tattoo with the camp number retouched. Despite his initial consent, the man is trying to back out of the project, as his memories come back in the process of retattooing. Contrary to the artist’s original intentions, a new controversial motif of inducing a former prisoner to undergo the procedure comes into play.
