Artistic Resistance in Dissonance. Guided Tour in English on Politics in Art exhibition
02.10.2022 at 4 pm
On Sunday 2 October at 4 pm MOCAK invites you for guided tour in English on the exhibition Politics in Art, entitled Artistic Resistance in Dissonance.
How is art a vehicle for disrupting injustice systems and narratives? In what ways can artistic intervention provoke civil discourse and change? What can artists and art tell us about how we can address dissonance in our local, national, and global contexts?
In this guided tour, we will visit the Politics in Art exhibition with these questions at the forefront for discussion and reflection. Through photographs of protests, glimpses of the past through posters, contemporary installation pieces, and more, this exhibition will facilitate and challenge our understanding of how art can give us an outlet to respond and talk about difficult political issues.
The event will be led by Joanna Pottle – an American visual artist, researcher, educator, and US Fulbright alumnae residing in Krakow and collaborating with MOCAK. Most recently, she completed graduate studies at Jagiellonian University, focusing on cultural heritage, art and democracy, and is a 2022–2023 fellow with global non-profit Humanity in Action.
No pre-booking required. The tour is included in the ticket price for exibitions and starts at the main MOCAK Reception Desk. Estimated duration of the tour: 90 min. For more information or assistance please contact: email@example.com or + 48 12 263 40 35 (Mon – Fri, 9 am – 4 pm).
