Social Therapy. One of the most difficult of human experiences is helplessness and loneliness in the feeling of being wronged, when everyone around keeps silent and pretends that nothing out of order has occurred. Krzysztof Wodiczko, in selecting painful problems and their victims, gives a voice to people who have been wronged and arranges meetings for them with others who have had similar experiences. Recordings of their statements are projected on buildings or monuments that give them a historically reinforced context. As a result these private problems that were shamefully stifled become public problems for which we all bear the responsibility. This universalization of the wrong helps the victims to recover their feeling of dignity.
