An ironic and poignant contrast of simple symbols: a guardian of law and order, a road to nowhere, some birds on the wing. The policeman – rather than, stony-faced, enforcing law and order – is barring someone’s path in a desperate bid to save him from disaster. Above his head, there rises a flock of pigeons, proclaiming his extraordinary heroism.
