Artist as a manufacturer? – a debate
The exhibition Economics in Art has inspired a meeting of people representing both fields and a discussion about the relation between modern art, economics and economy. The participants of the discussion were: Edwin Bendyk – a publicist for „Polityka”, Jerzy Hausner – an economist, Professor at the Cracow University of Economics, Jarosław Kozłowski – an artist, Professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań and Maria Anna Potocka – an art critic and theoretician, director of MOCAK.
The debaters were trying to answer such questions as: is an artist also a manufacturer and his art – merchandise, to what extent is artistic success synonymous with market success and others.
