Walking in Lipowa Street

On 12 August 2012 the third event of the series Summer at MOCAK! took place. With the artist Artur Wabik acting as the guide, the participants were introduced to the street-art attractions of the Zabłocie district, where the Museum is situated.

The first port of call in Zabłocie was the Ecological Mural by Artur Wabik and Aleksandra Toborowicz, which can be found on the façade of the eco-bistro Papuamu. Next the group visited Mirosław Bałka’s sculpture Auschwitzwieliczka in Traugutta Street, and Mikołaj Rejs’s mural You said that you could let it go... displayed on the walls of the old Wawel sweet factory.

The walk ended with the walkers being invited into the Museum of Contemporary Art, where they were shown the presentation of the interdisciplinary art-and-society project Zabłocie Station, which highlights the transformation of the district and the role that individuals play in creating its identity. Finally, the participants viewed the current exhibitions at MOCAK.
