To mark the 10th anniversary of the opening of MOCAK, we have launched a new series of film screenings entitled Thursdays with the Artists from the MOCAK Collection. In the audiovisual room throughout the day during the Museum’s opening hours we show interviews with the artists whose works are in our Collection.
In November and December we present an interview with Markus Muntean and Adi Rosenblum, aka the artistic duo Muntean/Rosenblum. The artists talk about the most important components of their art as painters and their sources of inspiration. In 2018, the works of Muntean/Rosenblum were presented in their individual exhibition at MOCAK. Currently, their two paintings which are part of the Museum’s Collection can be viewed in the exhibition Contemporary Models of Realism.

Markus Muntean (1962, Austria)
Adi Rosenblum (1962, Israel / Austria)
Painting, drawing, film, installation, performative actions. Active since 1992, the artistic duo creates monumental compositions with captions – quotations from fashion magazines or literature. The protagonists of their paintings are young people, their representations inspired by fashion shots. Composed in reference to classical iconography, the ambiguous scenes, laden with pathos, question whether spirituality can exist in the contemporary world. It is impossible to fathom the respective collaborative input of each artist, since there is nothing to identify who contributed any particular element of the work.
