Simon Fujiwara

(born 1982) Film, photography, installation, painting, sculpture. The artist has achieved a wide formal range through adjusting the medium used to the subject matter that fascinates him. His praxis is narrative in character; he combines texts and objects into stage design installations, in which reality and fiction are blurred. He selects highly inspirational themes, creating ample commentary on the location, consumerism and national or gender stereotypes. His projects are steeped in his own experience – he uses elements of his own biography and those of his nearest and dearest.
