Popes

The exhibition that this catalogue accompanies analyses the phenomenon of the fascination with John Paul II, his image and the material traces of his presence. These analyses have been taken on board primarily by Polish artists, although international artists, including Andy Warhol and Volker Hildebrandt, have also taken up this theme. The catalogue includes the text by Kazimierz S. Ożόg, which takes up a critical approach to the issue of papal monuments.
