On Saturday, 30th May come to the first nationwide edition of Night of Libraries. That night special attractions will await the Readers. The MOCAK Library will be open from 11 am till midnight.
Take part in a contest for the best fancy dress whose theme is a work of modern art. From 8 to 10 pm all those dressed as works of art will be awarded with a photo shoot and a lottery with unique prizes prepared by the Museum. Group projects are also welcome. For those undecided the Library will provide plenty of inspiration and its staff will help to make a fancy dress.
During a trip to Nidzica in 1977 professor Mieczysław Porębski together with his students started to play tableaux vivants. The event, photographed by Adam Rzepecki, has become legendary among art historians, as it proved that science benefits from a sense of humour.
Night of Libraries will also be a great opportunity to visit Mieczyław Porebski's Library and discover its secrets.
