Jerzy Treliński
(b. 1940)
Graphics, drawing, artistic action. An artist related to conceptual art, mainly known for his actions and manifestos of the 1970s. One of them was marching in the 1st May parade with a huge banner proclaiming ‘TRELIŃSKI’. Treliński focuses attention on the significance of an individual, independent artistic action. The key element is the artist’s presence, constantly emphasised in his work. Illustrating the idea, the artist uses a range of – of ten formally provocative – forms of statement.
