This is the catalogue of the exhibition Gender in Art, which presents works of more than forty artists from different countries – another of MOCAK’s projects in the series confronting significant civilisational concepts with their artistic interpretation. As well as an extensive compilation of quality reproductions of the works from the exhibition, the publication also contains a generous theoretical section. It includes reprints of seminal feminist texts, essays on the issues related to gender in various artistic genres and topical texts which tackle the current debate on the concept of social gender and the ensuing controversies.
