The artist is a self-confessed "peeping Tom". He has created numerous series of paintings that show "quotations" from a crime. We don't know what had taken place. All we can see are a few unrelated moments. This quality of mystery stimulates our imagination. What is the meaning of the shoe over there? Why is there blood? Why is he holding her like this? What had happened between that moment and the next one? Each painting is a question. The answers can combine into very different stories.
