Dubbing collages
Published at:27.09.2012
Technical conservation of three collages by Milan Knížák. The technique used is called dubbing. Underneath the collages, consisting of numerous paper elements covered in various types of paint and inscriptions, a thin, transparent layer of Japanese tissue paper was glued using a special adhesive, applied warm. If the adhesive had been thinned using water or any other thinner, it might have affected the dry paint, ink or felt tip inscriptions.
