Disability Immersion
On 7 and 8 May 2013, there was training for MOCAK employees on making culture accessible to those with impaired sight and hearing. The training session was conducted by Anna Żórawska and Robert Więckowski from the Culture without Barriers Foundation, which aims to raise awareness about the means and methods to combat the results of disability and to build an inclusive, aware society, ready to destroy stereotypes.
The participants considered solutions that would enable those with visual and aural disabilities to experience culture as fully as possible They discussed various forms of communication, including typography, sign language and audio description. Putting the gained understanding to good use, at the end of the session those present created an audio description of selected works from the MOCAK Collection.
