The catalogue carries a short text by Maria Anna Potocka as well as a conversation between Jarosław Kozłowski and Bożena Czubak. The interview is focused on the origins and the modus operandi of Akumulatory 2 Gallery. The catalogue is illustrated with examples of exhibited works.
During 1972–1990, 195 presentations were organised at Akumulatory 2 Gallery (exhibitions, performances, actions, musical events, lectures). The Gallery functioned as a quasi-institution, in spite of the lack of any back-up, frequently moving from one exhibition venue to another. The material collected at the exhibition and in the accompanying events provides an insight into artistic practices developed outside the official art world and into the broad area of artistic strategies carried out in spite of operating in the stifling environment of socialist reality.
