Terrain
Artist:
Koji Kamoji
Technique:
installation
Date:
1978
The work is a fragment of the exhibition Terrain, which took place in the Pawilon Gallery in Krakow in 1978. The exhibition was dedicated to the memory of S. Sasaki, the artists childhood friend, who committed suicide by the sea. Aesthetic minimalism and a contemplative character are the main characteristics of Koji Kamojis work. The artist uses simple objects, which he places in pairs, creating between them poetic tension. Koji Kamojis works are related to the concept of a Zen garden. Physical and intuitive space is important for the artist; a space the viewer can also enter.
