Artist: Otto Zitko
Technique: painting installation
Measurement: 200 × 300 cm
Date: 1995

In 1995, as part of his exhibition in the Potocka Gallery, Otto Zitko produced drawings in two rooms: in one, made with an oil stick, in the other – with charcoal. After the exhibition had ended – thanks to the collaboration with the Department of Conservation and Restoration of Works of Art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow – it was possible to transfer fragments of the installation off the wall. The drawings were moved onto a mobile surface. One of the central motifs in the work of Otto Zitko is a line. Zitko’s work emphasises the infinite nature of a line. His line is undisciplined – it conveys the dynamics of the artist’s own.
