We observe the clash of two worlds – practical and symbolic. The imposition of ornament on an ordinary object transfers it from the mundane to the world of art. The artist has employed a similar device to wooden boxes and planks. The shape of the objects has remained unchanged; the added adornments, however, alter the response of the viewer.
