‘On the wall, more or less at the eye height, there hangs a framed drawing. You are standing on the floor, the drawing hangs on the wall. Between you and it there is no contact, either personal or somatic. That lack of contact has always irked me a lot (…). So, I thought, what would happen if a drawing started from the floor?’ The drawing, placed on a pile of bricks, is at the eye level of the viewer’s face. This strategy has created an impression of confrontation.
