Alexander Honory

(b. 1957)
Photography, photographic installation, photographic action. He collects private snapshots which he proceeds to transform and aestheticise, giving them a new function. Since 1996, has been working on the project One World with Many Faces, based on the idea of taking photographs of the residents of 12 cities all over the world. To date, he has carried out the project in Vienna, Bogotá, Buenos Aires, Panama City, Antwerp and Łódź. The photographs are produced in a studio placed in a busy part of the city for a duration of one week to a month, with any passers-by able to walk into the studio. All the photographs are taken to the same formula, enclosed within a narrow field. They provide an anthropological review of people from different parts of the globe.
