Recently, Teresa and Andrzej Starmach have made a reality their donations of works of key importance to Polish contemporary art to two Krakow municipal institutions: MOCAK and the MuFo Museum of Photography. The owners of the Starmach Gallery have donated to both museums a significant part of their private art collection, amassed over many years, in what is a significant historic gesture by private collectors for the benefit of Krakow’s public museums.
For both institutions, this altruistic gift, which demonstrates the donors’ desire to share art, is invaluable. The donation includes unique works of fundamental importance to Polish culture, encapsulating the most important intellectual trends of the Polish 20th century art. Teresa and Andrzej Starmach’s donation of these works to the collections of public institutions has given all Poles access to this heritage, a gift of an invaluable and timeless significance.
