Roman Ingarden. Philosopher and Photographer
In this publication we present several topics that were dominant in his artistic work. The publication contains texts by Sebastian Stankiewicz, Maria Anna Potocka and Marlena Nikoda as well as Władysław Stróżewski’s memories of Roman Ingarden.
Wiesław Dymny: I Am a Wounded Man: Writer, Actor, Painter
The publication includes reminiscences about Dymny by people associated with the cabaret Piwnica pod Baranami (Cellar under the Rams), an interview with Anna Dymna, and a comprehensive timeline by Monika Wąs – the biographer of Wiesław Dymny and Piotr Skrzynecki. The illustrated section of the book is the first-ever album presentation of the visual art of Wiesław Dymny.
Wisława Szymborska. Collages – second edition
The catalogue presents a less-known part of the poet's work: postcard-size collages, which had been sent to her friends over many years. The texts on these minimalist compositions have been written by Małgorzata Baranowska, Maria Anna Potocka, Michał Rusinek. The catalogue also includes an interview with Ryszard Krynicki. The publication comprises nearly 150 photographic reproductions of Wisława Szymborska's works.
Anti-War Bulletin
The Anti-War Bulletin that accompanies the exhibition World War II – Drama, Symbol, Trauma with its graphic design echoes newspapers of the 1920s and 1930s. It has been subdivided into sections titled after parts of the exhibition, in the order of display. The publication, available in Polish and English, will prove useful when viewing the exhibition.
Guido Casaretto: The Ghosts of Matter
As well as photographs of works by Guido Casaretto, the publication contains an interview with the artist and essays on the different aspects of his art, such as the creation of illusions, the relationship between the original and a copy of the work, and the creative transformation of matter and elements of culture.
Michel Kichka Falafel with Hot, Spicy Sauce
Falafel with Hot, Spicy Sauce is Michel Kichka’s latest graphic novel – following the Second Generation – published by MOCAK. The author is a well-known Jewish artist, originally from Belgium. In this book, he tells the story of his Aliyah, or settling in Israel, the land of his ancestors.
Beata Stankiewicz Ten Jews Who Made Poland Famous
The publication presents profiles of ten outstanding artists and intellectuals. As well as reproductions of works by Beata Stankiewicz, it contains extensive biographies of the portrayed figures and excerpts from their writings. The book also includes an interview with the artist, which familiarises the reader with the concept behind the series.
Nature in Art
The catalogue of the exhibition from the most important MOCAK series comprises reproductions of the works of over 70 artists, as well as texts by Dorota Łagodzka, Maria Anna Potocka, Claudia Roth, Mateusz Salwa and Wolfgang Welsch, who look at the interpenetration of nature and art from different perspectives.
Herta Müller: Where One Cannot Speak: Word as Image, Image as Word
The publication contains the reflections by Michael Groß, Norbert Lammert, Maria Anna Potocka, Christina Rossi and Michał Rusinek, as well as an in-depth conversation with the artist, conducted by Delfina Jałowik and Jürgen Kaumkötter. In the illustrated section, we present a selection of Herta Müller’s collages with their translations into Polish and English.
Krzysztof M. Bednarski: Karl Marx vs Moby Dick: An Analysis of Form and Demolition of Ideas
The publication summarises Krzysztof M. Bednarski’s work to date. As well as the rich illustrative part, it contains the timeline of his life and art, a detailed list of exhibitions and a bibliography prepared by Maryla Sitkowska, as well as essays by Wiesław Gumuła, Łukasz Kropiowski, Achille Bonito Oliva, Maria Anna Potocka, and the interview with the artist conducted by Martyna Sobczyk.
